Simply Stamped

Day 117 - Simply Stamped at 365 Cards. One stamped image and one stamped sentiment - that's it. You can color in the image and use any color of card stock - no patterned paper and no other embellishments!

What a great challenge!! I get so caught up in "embellishing" my cards, I often forget that sometimes "simple" is great!!!

Bold colors only

Day 100 - Manic Monday I challenge you to use 5 bold colors on your card: RED, ORANGE, YELLOW, GREEN, and BLUE - No pastels!

This challenge was tougher than I thought it would be for me... I don't usually play with bold colors, but I think it turned out cute!!

The Law of the Garbage Truck

One day I hopped in a taxi and we took off for the airport. We were driving in the right lane when suddenly a black car jumped out of a parking space right in front of us.

My taxi driver slammed on his brakes, skidded, and missed the other car by just inches! The driver of the other car whipped his head around and started yelling at us. My taxi driver just smiled and waved at the guy. And I mean, he was really friendly.

So I asked, "Why did you just do that? That guy almost ruined your car and sent us to the hospital!"

This is when my taxi driver taught me what I now call, "The Law of the Garbage Truck."

He explained that many people are like garbage trucks. They run around full of garbage -- frustration, anger, disappointment. As their garbage piles up, they need a place to dump it and sometimes they'll dump it on you.

Don't take it personally. Just smile, wave, wish them well, and move on.

Don't take their garbage and spread it to other people at work, at home, or on the streets.

The bottom line is that successful people do not let garbage trucks take over their day. Love the people who treat you right. Pray for the ones who don't.

Life is ten percent what you make it and ninety percent how you take it!

Watering and Flowers

We still don't have a yard, but I do have a few plants outside that need occasional watering. While Ethan has been with us I have discovered that he is fascinated with watering the plants! It's gotten warm again this week, so we needed to do some watering...

He takes his job very seriously.....

and makes sure all the plants get a drink of water...
Later he and Aunt Heather went for a walk down to our mailbox... he brought me this beautiful bouquet of flowers.... I love this kid!!

Square Card

I've been playing with some different shaped cards. I typically work with the A2 size (5.5 x 4.25), but I am enjoying using some different sizes.

The Park...

Ethan and DH went to the park! They had a great time feeding ducks and pigeons, playing on the playground and our park features some full size old work vehicles... Ethan had a great time!
